The Armory offers a fun place to go after school for food, crafts, sports and even a little tutoring thrown in! Check out the various programs available from basketball clinics to arts and crafts or just a place to hang out with friends. We have something for all ages and our after school programs are FREE for students in grades 6-12.

Arts Crafts

Creative Crafting

Learn the basics of a craft and how to generate income for yourself

and other organizations. Various crafts and techniques.

Spirit of the Woods Garden Club  Grow food, flowers, and herbs. Create food and safe havens for birds, bees, and butterflies. Learn how to compost and earn your green thumb!


Classes & Certifications

Babysitting Certification

Learn a variety of applicable techniques to help you be a

great babysitter! Earn the Safesitter Certification. Add your name to our list provided

to parents looking for certified sitters for their little ones!

Cooking Class

Make and take a different recipe each week with

special guest chefs. We will utilize existing pantry items, donated food, and potentially

our own food we grow! Recipes provided and occasionally Make and Take - so you can

bring it all home to show off your skills!


Open to youth in grades 6-8. Strengthen your body and mind. Empower will

focus on your complete health with fitness, food, and connection.

Pet Care Certification

Learn how to care for a pet and market your newly acquired

skills to pet owners who need a sitter or walker.

Community Service/Leadership

Student Volunteer & Leadership Program

Learn about basic care and maintenance

of the Armory facility, business operations, develop and lead programs to earn

volunteer hours while developing skills to serve your community or employer!

Junior Achievement

The Armory Youth Project is partnering with Junior Achievement (JA) of Northwest Michigan to offer 

programs that foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students in our community to dream big and reach their potential.

Sports Activities/Clinics

Pickleball Clinic!

Sign up to learn how to play this fun game. Instructors are experienced players and eager to get more competition!


is a pulse-pounding, beat-pumping, body-blasting fitness program that gets you

results…fast. It's a high intensity dance party that fuses cardio, strength, Pilates, hip hop, yoga and kickboxing.

Sport Activities/Clinics

Multiple sport clinics offered by area coaches for skills and drills and general understanding of a specific sport. Offerings include Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Baseball skills and drills.


Tutoring/Education Support

HumanKind Virtual Tutoring

AYP has partnered with HumanKind Michigan to provide one-on-one online tutoring with University of Michigan students, done anywhere as arranged by student and tutor.

Study Room/Quiet Room

Wi-Fi and Chrome books available, along with a quiet place to study.

Tutoring is available upon request.
