The Armory offers a fun place to go after school for food, crafts, sports and even a little tutoring thrown in! Check out the various programs available from basketball clinics to arts and crafts or just a place to hang out with friends. We have something for all ages and our after school programs are FREE for students in grades 6-12.

SUMMER CAMP LINE-UP 2022

Arts, Crafts, and Hanging Out
Dance!
Play games, enjoy free popcorn, concessions available for purchase.
(Weather permitting) this dance will be held outside on the side lawn.
Make sure to register!

The Art Room
Create, explore, learn, have fun all while making art. All skill levels are welcome! Our instructors are amazing. All supplies are provided. Currently, classes are focused on Canvas painting.

Disc Golf - Summer Camp
June 15, 16, 17
We are kicking off our Summer Camp Series with a fan favorite...Disc Golf. Join seasoned disc golf players to learn tips and tricks of this fast growing sport. Spend 2 days learning on our very own 9-hole course. Then travel to WSCC to test your new skills on their course.
Wednesday/Thursday 10:00 - 12:00
Friday 10:00 - 2:00
All campers will receive an Armory t-shirt and your very own disc, so you can practice what you learn all summer long.

Certification/Safety Week
June 20 - June 23
Choose from a variety of Certification/Safety programs being offered this week.
Safe Sitter Certification is BACK. This class will meet Monday - Thursday from 10:00am - 12:00pm.
Each camper will receive a t-shirt. Certification and a Safe Sitter back pack will be awarded for successful completion of the Safe Sitter course.

Thinking you might want to work in a restaurant this summer? Get a head of your competition by getting certified in Food Safety. This class is being offered Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 - 3:00.
Each camper will receive a t-shirt and their own apron for cooking in the kitchen.

With our beautiful beaches, it is important to have a good understanding of Beach Safety. Join members of the Manistee Police Department on Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:00 as they train you how to protect yourself and possibly others this summer.
Each camper will receive a t-shirt and a summer beach kit.

With the never ending trails and opportunities for outdoor adventures, it is important to know what to do in case of an emergency. Join us on Thursday from 1:00 - 3:00 for this important training
Each camper will receive a t-shirt and a first aid kit.

Taste of River Street
June 27 - June 30
Love the restaurants and businesses in our downtown area? Then you are in for a treat. Join local chefs and business owners as they show you how to prepare one of their signature dishes. A new restaurant and recipe each day from 9:30 am - 11:30 am. We can hardly wait!
Each camper will receive a t-shirt and their own apron for cooking.

Art Week
July 11 - July 14
Do you like art? Like to get messy and create cool stuff? Then be sure to sign up for Art Week at the Armory. Each day you will dive into a new creation. All supplies provided.
Monday class is 9:00 - 2:00
Tuesday - Thursday 9:00 - 11:00
Campers this week will get a t-shirt and their own art apron.

Outdoor Adventure Week
July 25 - July 28
This camp will meet Monday - Wednesday from 9:00 - 12:00 and on Thursday from 9:00 - 1:00.
Areas to Explore:
M: Magoon Creek
T: Orchard Beach State Park
W: Audubon Trails - Jack Fern and Shoreline
R: Baldy Trail in Arcadia
Each camper will get a t-shirt and a compass to help guide them on their own outdoor adventures.

Young Life Camp
August 01 - August 07
This camp will take place at Young Life Camp at Timber Wolf Lake. Lead: Luke Trombley There will be opportunities for fund raising

Cooking with a Pro
August 08 - August 11
Kid tested. Kid approved recipes coming your way this week. Get in the kitchen and learn how to cook up great tasting snacks and meals.
All campers receive a t-shirt and their own cooking in the kitchen apron.

Classes & Certifications
Parkdale Auto Maintenance 101
Join Tyler for Auto Maintenance classes on Tuesdays May 10th & 17th from 3:30pm - 5:00pm at the Armory Youth Project. Students will learn the importance of vehicle maintenance and basic auto service skills. They will then be puting those skills on display at the Parkdale Autorama safety check on Saturday May 21st.

Driver's Education!
Premier Driving holds their classes at the Armory Youth Project. Contact Premier Driving to enroll, pay, and for more details.
Register below to use the Armory facilities during your Driver's Training Session. This includes snacks, dinner, and use of the facilities before and after classes.

Guitar Lessons-
Bring your own instrument or borrow one of ours!
Instructor Joe is eager to show students the basics of playing music. We have a great space and while we do have other instruments available, this lesson will be focused on improving guitar skills. Sign up to reserve a spot for these FREE lessons!

Join us on our very own 9-hole disc golf course at the Armory. Discs, as well as guidance from disc golf pros will be at your disposal. Join in on the new craze!

Archery Tag
It's back! Come play this fan favorite game. We set up in the gym and provide the bows, arrows, and safety helmets. Please fill out waiver.

Table Tennis (Ping Pong)
Join us on Mondays from 3:30 -5:00 to meet with an instructor and improve your ping pong game! So. Much. Fun.

Open Basketball/Gym
Come on in after school and use the gym. Play basketball, kick around a soccer ball, play catch. It is open and ready for you to use.


Tutoring/Education Support
Study Room/Quiet Room
Wi-Fi and Chrome books available, along with a quiet place to study.
Tutoring is available with volunteers upon request and by appointment.

Manistee Area Public Schools
Late (but great) Start Mondays and daily after school drop off!
BUS # 32 (currently #21)
6 through 12 grade students can be dropped off at the Armory at 7:30 am on late start Mondays, and MAPS will provide bus transportation to MMHS. You can also take the bus after school and be dropped off at the Armory!
If interested in dropping off your student at the Armory for late start Mondays, please fill out the form below to register and click submit - and notify the school! There are 15 slots so make sure to sign up to reserve one!
